How to use the Background Remover
The whole tool runs inside your browser. Here is the full flow, start to finish.
1. Add your images
Open the tool page and add your photos — drag and drop one image or many at once, or click to browse. JPG, PNG and WEBP are all supported, and there is no limit on how many you queue. The AI loads automatically in the background the moment you add a photo, so there is nothing to install and no sign-up.
Selecting one object: if a photo has several things in it and you only want one, click Edit on that image, drag a box around the subject you want to keep, and press Start inside the editor — everything outside the box is removed. Skip the box to let the AI detect the whole image automatically.
2. Choose the background
Decide what should sit behind your subject:
- Transparent — a clean cut-out saved as a PNG, perfect for logos, product shots and design work.
- White — ideal for marketplace, catalogue and ID-style photos.
- Colour — pick any solid colour with the colour picker.
- Image — upload your own background and drop the subject straight onto it.
You can also set the object alignment (keep it as-is, centre it, or trim to the subject) and the edge softness (None, Soft or Smooth) for a natural, feathered edge. Every option updates the results live, so there is no need to run the images again.
3. Process and download
Press Start. Each image is processed in turn, with a live status on its card. When it finishes you can:
- Click any result to open a larger preview on a transparent checkerboard.
- Download a single image, or grab everything at once as a ZIP.
4. Fine-tune by hand (optional)
For a perfect finish, click the ✏️ edit button in the corner of any result to open the touch-up editor, where you can:
- Move — drag the subject to reposition it on the canvas.
- Restore — brush back any part the AI removed by mistake.
- Erase — brush away any extra bits.
- Zoom in for precise work, and undo or reset at any time. Nothing is saved until you press Done.
Tips for the cleanest cut-outs
- Good contrast between the subject and the background helps the AI find the edges.
- Opening the tool in Chrome or Edge on a computer with a GPU unlocks the top-quality AI for the cleanest hair and fine edges.
- Higher-resolution source images give crisper results.
- On a phone it runs a fast, reliable AI automatically — no setup needed, and results still go through automatic cleanup.
