Is it really free?
Yes. There is no cost, no sign-up, no watermark, and no limit on how many images you process.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The AI model is downloaded to your browser and runs entirely on your own device. Your images are never sent to any server — you can even use the tool with your internet disconnected once the model is installed.
Why do I have to "install" a model first?
Because the AI runs locally, your browser downloads the model file once. After that it is cached, so future visits are instant and work offline.
What is the difference between Standard and Max Quality?
Standard (RMBG-1.4) is fast and works well on phones and older computers. Max Quality (RMBG-2.0) produces sharper edges on difficult subjects like flyaway hair, but it is heavier and works best on a computer with a modern GPU.
Can I put my subject on a new background?
Yes. After removing the background you can keep it transparent or place the subject on white, any solid colour, or a background image you upload.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, on modern phones. Use the Standard model for the smoothest experience on mobile.
