Is the tool really free?
Yes — completely. There is no cost, no account, no watermark, and no cap on how many images you process.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The AI model is downloaded to your browser and every image is processed on your own device. Your photos never leave your computer or phone. Once the model is cached you can even use the tool offline.
Why do I need to install a model first?
Because the AI runs locally rather than on a server, your browser fetches the model file one time. After that it is stored in your browser cache, so the tool loads instantly on later visits.
What is the difference between the two models?
Standard (RMBG-1.4) is fast, light and works on virtually any device — it is the right choice for most people. Max Quality (RMBG-2.0) resolves finer detail such as flyaway hair, but it is heavier and works best on a computer with a modern GPU.
The Max Quality model is slow or fails on my device. What should I do?
That model is demanding. On phones and older machines, switch back to the Standard model — it is much lighter and still produces excellent edges.
Which browsers are supported?
Any up-to-date browser works. For the fastest results the tool uses your GPU through WebGPU when it is available (recent versions of Chrome, Edge and Opera), and falls back to a slower CPU path everywhere else.
Can I use the results commercially?
The tool itself is free to use for your images. You are responsible for having the rights to any photo you process and for how you use the finished cut-outs.
Does it work on many images at once?
Yes. Select or drop in as many images as you like and they are processed one after another. You can download them all together as a ZIP.
Can I place my subject on a new background?
Yes — keep it transparent, or drop the subject onto white, any solid colour, or a background image you upload.
Is there a file-size or resolution limit?
There is no fixed limit imposed by the tool. Very large images use more memory, so extremely high-resolution files may be slower on low-end devices.
